45’s
A popular Maritime card game of strategy and skill, typically played in pairs.
5km / 10km Run
Road races covering 5 and 10 kilometres open to all levels of runners.

8 Ball
A popular pool game where players compete to pocket either the solid or striped balls before sinking the 8 ball to win.
Candlepin Bowling
A uniquely Maritime version of bowling using smaller balls and vertical pins.

Contract Bridge
A strategic card game played in partnerships, focused on bidding and trick-taking.

Cribbage
A classic card game where players score points by forming combinations of cards.

Curling
A strategic team sport played on ice, where players slide stones toward a target area while teammates sweep the ice to influence the stone’s path.
Cycling
Road cycling event testing endurance, speed, and strategy.

Darts
A precision sport in which players throw small missiles at a circular target (dartboard) fixed to a wall.
Golf
Individual stroke play event across two scenic local courses.
Ice Hockey
A fast-paced team sport played on ice where players use sticks to shoot a puck into the opposing team’s net. Hockey is a Canadian classic and a highlight of the 55+ Games.

Mountain Biking
Off-road cycling event that tests agility and stamina on trails.

Pickleball
A fun paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, played on a smaller court.

Scrabble
A word game where players score points by forming words from individual letter tiles on a game board.

Skip Bo
A fun and fast-paced card game where players use skill and strategy to build sequential stacks of cards. Easy to learn and perfect for groups, it’s all about outsmarting your opponents while enjoying friendly competition.

Stick Curling
A variation of traditional curling where players deliver stones using a stick from a standing position, making the sport more accessible for those with limited mobility. It emphasizes strategy, precision, and fun—perfect for all skill levels.
Swimming
Individual and relay races in various strokes and distances, held in a pool.

Tennis
A dynamic racquet sport played in singles or doubles, where players rally across a net to outscore their opponents. Held on outdoor courts, tennis combines agility, strategy, and endurance—making it a fun and energizing challenge for all skill levels.

Track and Field
Athletics events, including running, jumping, and throwing disciplines.
Predicted Walking
A unique walking event where the goal isn’t speed—but accuracy! Participants estimate how long it will take to complete the course and then walk without a timing device. The winner is the one who finishes closest to their predicted time. A fun, strategic event for all fitness levels!

Washer Toss
A backyard-style target game similar to horseshoes, using washers and a box with a cup.

Floor Shuffleboard
A classic game of strategy and precision where players slide weighted discs down a court to score points..
